Meeting by the movement of the other

For this project the aim was to re-design an encounter. I began with the idea of how you could meet somebody by extending your own body linked to the other, so your movements have an effect on the other person. I came to 'Meeting by the movement of the other'.

I discovered that I find a lot of comfort in directly embodying the ideas I have. This resulted in a project with a lot of experiments, here below I show the most important experiments in my proces.
I wandered how this proces could continue without my presence, or the presence of the other. How can you meet somebody by the movement without the person being there?

I wanted to print my movement in the sand in order to guide the other person without language. So the person meets me by my movement without me being there.
Here I let go the idea of meeting the person by movement but meeting by re-designing the difference spaces in the city. I looked up all the building sites in Ghent and discovered all of them have a sand or earth pile. Ytong is a material often used in construction sites, it is very easy to manipulate (saw trough, drill,...). I got a few bricks for free on a recycle page on Facebook of Ghent. I choose this material so that the construction workers could put them in their containers with other waste materials of the construction site.
I made a QR code to put on the bricks where people could scan it and have more information about my project.
